My Role

Toy Designer

I led the end-to-end design and packaging design of Yoozy Duck “Hands-On Fun,” an interactive paper playbook for young children. I explored how paper engineering could turn reading into active play. From research and prototyping to material selection and production, I also established our team’s design process for future playbook projects.

Narrow Down Our Targeted User

Narrow Down Our Targeted User

Key Insight 1

The most valuable target users are M2 and A1

M2 users are easy to influence through content and less price-sensitive. A1 users actively research products and align well with Yoozy Duck’s value, making both groups key targets.

Key Insight 2

Cognitive development is a key focus for 1–2 year olds

For 1–2 year olds, parents focus on language, routines, self-care, attention span, and age-fit learning. Interactive books work well because they match toddlers’ hand movements and connect learning with daily life.

MVP

After aligning with the illustrator on the interaction concepts and pop-up mechanisms, I built a quick MVP using laser-cut paper parts. This prototype helped us test the scale, movement, and usability of each page before moving into final production.
